November 2020 E-Bulletin
Here's a look at some of the things going on in November:
Say YES to Christmas Eve
Like the friendly folks at Hobby Lobby, we've already got Christmas on our mind. Now, don't freak out, we're not going to do anything too crazy like put up the tree this week. But we do have teams working hard to plan some beautiful Christmas Eve services. We know with the current social distancing requirements from the governor that we'll need to have more services than we did last year, and we need your help to pull it off! Christmas Eve services are some of our greatest outreach opportunities, because we know that people are searching for hope - especially in a year like 2020! But we need your help - we need around 120 people to step in and say YES to helping us during at least 1 of our Christmas Eve services. Say YES to Learn More.
HOPE Store for Mary Castle Families
This year, our Holiday Outreach project will support our friends at Mary Castle Schools. We have been working with the school to connect us with families in need this Christmas. There are opportunities for you to purchase clothes, toys, and gifts for students and families as well as opportunities to volunteer as we create a free Christmas “Shopping” Experience right here at E91 the week before Christmas. We'll have opportunities for you to purchase gifts for these families, as well as sign up to volunteer at the store, beginning on November 15th. Check back soon for details!
A Box of HOPE
As the turbulent year of 2020 draws to a close, people need HOPE now more than ever! This year, we want to help create ways to spread the hope of Jesus to others. Beginning on Sunday, November 8th, Hope Boxes will be available in the lobby on Sunday mornings for you to take to experience some hope in your own life, or to share with others who may need some extra hope as we head into this holiday season.
Deck the Halls
It’s time to celebrate joy and hope this Christmas and it all starts here at E91 on November 22nd, with our annual Deck the Halls! We invite you, your small group, ABF, family, and friends to join other E91ers to help light the church in honor of Christ’s coming. We will start at 10:45am, just as the second service gets started -- beginning with the Hall, and outer areas, and finishing up in the foyer. We will have a light lunch for those that stay through to 1pm. We hope you will join us for this fun Christmas preparation event – as many hands make light work! Meet in the foyer by the coffee area at 10:45 for prayer and decorating instructions.
Registration required to reserve your spot for lunch!
First Step Class
If you're new-er or looking to get more connected with E91, the First Step class is an easy place to start! During this class we want to get to know you more, share about who we are as a church, and help you take a first step through community and serving with us at E91!
We have two options for you to attend the First Step Class: an in-person class will be on Sunday, December 6th from 10:45 AM - 12:00 PM. We will meet downstairs in 010. We will also have a online Zoom option on Thursday, December 10th beginning at 6:30 PM. Sign Up today for either option.
The Welcome Party is the first step to getting involved at E91. It is a great time to meet other new people, meet some of our pastors and staff, enjoy free dinner and childcare on us! You'll hear the heart and vision of E91, hear from our Lead Pastor, Rick Grover, and find out your first step at East 91st Street Christian Church. It's a night not to be missed, and we would look forward to meeting you! You can RSVP below.
In-Person Welcome Party Wednesday, November 18th at 6:30pm

Men's Online Bible Study
Men, join us on this 7-week series titled "Teach Us How to Pray," we will be dissecting the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. Each phrase from this prayer has divine direction that not only connects us with our Heavenly Father, but also allows the Holy Spirit to shape our hearts and minds to His will and image. We'll meet on Zoom on Wednesdays at 8pm beginning November 11th. Register Here
Mustard Seed Bible Study - Thursdays at 10:30 am at E91 in Room 210
Everyone is invited to join us for the Mustard Seed Bible Study Thursday mornings at E91 taught by Bob Walters. The class is currently completing a chronological study of the Gospels. Please don't forget your masks. Coffee will not be provided, but you may bring your own drinks from home.
Family Experience on Sunday Mornings
We're continuing to offer our Family Experience throughout the months of November and December. This is an interactive experience totally geared toward kids, specifically for families with kiddos from infants all the way to 5th graders, and will be different each week with live teaching of Bible stories, and some of the songs from Kids Worship. It will take place during both the 9:15 and the 10:45 service times on Sunday Mornings. Families will sit together at tables to ensure social distancing.
Please Note: We will NOT offer the Family Experience on Sunday, December 27th.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, we have found it necessary to limit access to our building through the week for the safety of our guests and staff. Most notably, moving forward our building and offices will now be closed every Friday.
