Lunch & Learn

Come learn about using a trauma informed lens to respond to people in your circle who have experienced pain. We'll learn from our speaker, Audrianna DeWitt-Lingren, a Social Worker serving the Commission on Improving the Status of Children, and a former Family Case Manager with the Department of Child Services.

Trauma-informed approaches recognize and intentionally respond to the lasting adverse effects of experiencing traumatic events, through several principles:

  • Safety
  • Peer support
  • Trustworthiness and Transparency
  • Collaboration and Mutuality
  • Empowerment, Voice and Choice

There are many reasons why people experience psychological and behavioral difficulties. Oftentimes a past trauma, knowingly or unknowingly, can be the driver of some of these difficulties.
This training is most useful for those who are considering serving in E91's Family Advocacy Ministry, Foster Care, a Care Community, or any other context where you may be engaging with a person who has a trauma background.

Lunch will be provided for those who pre-register! Please indicate any food allergies. Childcare will not be available for this event, but you are welcome to bring children with you. There will be a table with activities for them in the room.
