Serving at E91
Find out how God's gifted you — then go put it to work.
Grace changes what we do with what we've been given. That's the question Step Up keeps asking: in light of everything God's already done for you, where is grace leading you to step up?
It's about serving out of gratitude instead of guilt, following Jesus' example, and discovering the gifts he's already put in you. If you're sensing that pull, now is time to do something with it.
Right now, there are two doors open. One is a serving gap here at Castleton — maybe something you've never tried. The other is Northside, a brand-new church family launching next fall in Noblesville, and we're looking for 100 people to help build it from the ground up.
There's no wrong door. Just a next step.
Step 1
Find Out How You're Wired
Before you pick where to serve, find out what you're actually good at. The Spiritual Gifts Assessment is a short survey that helps you see which gifts God's already given you to build up his church.
It takes about 15 minutes. Answer honestly, don't overthink any single question, and don't compare your results to anyone else's — every gift matters, and most people carry more than one.
Leadership
The ability to cast vision, set direction, and rally a group toward a shared, God-honoring goal.
Administration
The ability to organize people, plans, and resources so a ministry can actually run and reach its goal.
Teaching
The ability to study Scripture and explain it clearly, so others understand and apply God's truth.
Knowledge
A drive to dig into facts and information that helps the church understand and live out biblical truth.
Wisdom
The ability to apply biblical truth to real, specific situations in a way that leads to good decisions.
Prophecy
The ability to speak God's truth clearly and boldly, calling people to align their lives with his Word.
Discernment
The ability to recognize what's genuine and true — and to see through what isn't.
Exhortation (Encouragement)
The ability to come alongside people with words and support that spur them on in their faith.
Shepherding
A desire to guide, protect, and walk with a group of people as they grow toward spiritual maturity.
Faith
An unusual confidence to trust God for what hasn't happened yet, even when circumstances look uncertain.
Evangelism
The ability to share the good news of Jesus clearly and naturally in a way that helps people take a step toward him.
Apostleship
A calling to help start new works — churches, campuses, or ministries — especially where none exist yet.
Service/Helps
A desire to notice practical needs and meet them, often behind the scenes, without needing credit.
Mercy
A deep sensitivity to people who are hurting, paired with a desire to comfort and care for them.
Giving
A generous instinct to contribute time, money, or resources cheerfully, often beyond what's expected.
Hospitality
The ability to make people — especially guests and strangers — feel instantly welcomed and at home.
Step 2
See Where You Fit
Every ministry at E91 needs a mix of gifts. Use this as a quick guide to connect what you discovered to an actual opportunity to serve.
Serving opportunites within our Care Ministry include visitations to shut-ins, home communion serve/visitations, and helping with funerals. Serving with the Prayer Team is also part of the Care Ministry.
Serving opportunities include using your photography, videography, or social media skills to capture and share the stories of E91. You can also serve as a social media ambassador to help connect with the community and promote church events and activities.
Serving opportunities in Connections help create a warm and welcoming environment at E91. Roles include greeting guests as they arrive, passing out gift bags to first-time guests, serving communion, helping people find a place to sit, serving coffee, answering questions at the Welcome Desk, selling resources in the Resource Room, and more.
Opportunities to serve in Creative Arts include participating in Sunday morning worship and production for both contemporary and traditional services, as well as various other creative outlets like stage design, set up, and media production.
Serving opportunities in Discipleship include leading a Life Group or Small Group, serving in Men's/Women's Ministry, Family/Marriage Ministry, Mentoring, joining the Disciple-making Team, or being part of the Next Steps Teams.
Serving opportunities in Early Childhood include teaching and caring for children ages birth to kindergarten. You can serve as a teacher or small group leader, assist with special events, or help prepare craft supplies.
Serving opportunities in E91 Kids include being part of our check-in team, where you greet families and assist parents with checking their kids into class. We also have opportunities for teaching, hosting, and small group leading, as well as greeting, assisting with special events throughout the week, craft preparation, and worship leading. Our Decor Team helps create a welcoming environment by changing stage decor monthly.
Serving opportunities in E91 Students include roles such as hosting, greeting, and being a small group leader. We offer programming on Sunday and Wednesday nights, giving you a chance to connect and disciple students throughout the week.
Serving opportunities include volunteering with Spanish service prep and set up, supporting special events, and being an instrumentalist or vocalist for the Spanish Worship Team. You do not have to speak Spanish to volunteer in all roles.
Serving opportunities include helping maintain a safe, efficient, and beautiful campus inside and out. Roles include set-up and tear down for activities, cleaning, tending flower beds, mowing, trimming, snow plowing, performing light HVAC preventive maintenance (changing filters and greasing motors/pumps), and serving on the Security, Medical, or IT teams.

Sensing a Pull Toward Something New?
Every gift is needed to launch a campus — Northside will need worship, kids ministry, hospitality, setup, and Groups just like Castleton does. But a few gifts tend to feel a specific tug toward planting something new:
Apostleship — you're wired to help start things, not just maintain them.
Evangelism — you love reaching people who don't have a church home yet, and that's exactly who Northside is for.
Faith — you can trust God with the unknowns of something brand new, before you can see how it'll all work out.
If that's you, the Northside launch team might be your next step.
Step 3
You know your gifts. You've seen where they fit. Now pick your door.
Serve at Castleton
We're looking for 100 people to step into a serving spot here — some brand new to serving, some just trying something different. Whatever your gift, there's a place for it.
Join the Northside Launch Team
We're looking for 100 people to help build a brand-new church family from the ground up in Noblesville, launching fall 2027. It's hands-on: setup, teardown, kids ministry, worship, hospitality, Groups — whatever it takes to get a new campus off the ground.
Not sure which one?
Fill out either form and let us know — we'll help you find the right fit.
